Elemi and saffron open together, cedar holds the heart, then oud and patchouli in the base take over for hours. Reads mostly masculine.

It takes the material against the grain of the oriental tradition: no rose, no sugar, no barnyard — a wood held upright, brightened from the opening by a clear resin and saffron, leaning on dry cedar and set on patchouli. The result is luminous and smooth where the genre is usually dense and fermented, and it carries a long way.
