Its heart rests on two staples of classical perfumery, Florentine orris and rose absolute; amber, cedar, Mysore sandalwood and musk close it. The name points somewhere dark, but the build is clean and soapy rather than oriental. Xerjoff relaunched the Casamorati house in 2009 and counts Mefisto among the formulas left closest to the original recipes.
