The Last Day of Summer is a dry woody composition: cedar on top, cypress and nutmeg at the heart, patchouli and vetiver in the base. Despite its name it carries no solar, fruity or marine note — Gucci ties it to the turn from summer into autumn and the crunch of the first fallen leaves underfoot. It is one of the seven eaux de parfum in The Alchemist's Garden.

OlfIA

Woody at 88 over earthy at 72: a dry cedar, neither sweet nor smoky, which vetiver and patchouli push down into the soil. Three sprays, projection 5, longevity 6. Listed for autumn ALONE, which is unusual and right — it has neither summer's freshness nor winter's warmth. Slightly masculine at 60/100. Office and casual daytime.
