Bloom was the first fragrance developed under Alessandro Michele's creative direction, composed by Alberto Morillas and released in 2017. It rests on three materials: Rangoon creeper, tuberose and jasmine. The powdery edge comes from the Rangoon creeper, a flower that shifts colour as it opens. Gucci frames the composition as a bouquet rather than a conventional top-heart-base pyramid.

Three materials, and deliberately so: tuberose, jasmine and rangoon creeper, with no citrus or woody base to frame them. White floral at 92 — so two sprays at most, one indoors. Projection 6, longevity 7. Spring and summer. Very feminine at 8/100. If white florals usually read overwhelming to you, this one will not reassure you: the absence of a counterweight is the point.
