Not rated yet — be the firstAn aromatic fougère from 1994, Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme opens on citrus — bergamot, mandarin, Italian lemon — with neroli pulling the top straight into floral territory. Lavender holds the heart, softened by sage and sharpened by a turn of pepper: the textbook fougère frame, built without detour. The drydown trades freshness for something dry and sweet, tonka bean — the coumarin the house singles out as one of its signature materials — wrapping sandalwood and a thread of tobacco. Relaunched in autumn 2012, it has stayed in the house's line-up ever since, still presented there as an aromatic fougère. It is a deliberately mainstream masculine: well-cut rather than surprising, and worth attention for how cleanly it draws the fougère line.
