Incense opens on its own, joined by cardamom and ginger before cedar and cistus settle it in place. Papyrus, oud and cashmeran hold the finish, where vanilla stays a thread rather than a dessert.

Oud sits at 34, last of its accords and under half of Dubai Amber's — but it is there, base note included: anyone who wants none at all should look at Dubai Garnet, the only one of the four Dubai bottles with no oud in its accords or its notes. Incense at 84 leads the list and is listed up top as well, which is uncommon; the finish itself goes to papyrus and cashmeran. Its sheet clears everyday wear, which neither Dubai Amber nor Black Sapphire does, while a date is not among its settings. Seven and seven: two sprays.
