A painter and poet, Stéphane Humbert Lucas studied painting in the South of France under a Flemish master; convinced that every colour had a scent, he came to recognise his synaesthesia, in which sight triggers smell at the same time. Drawing on his travels in the Middle East, he released the first collection under his own name in 2012. The house is registered on rue de Ponthieu in Paris, and reads the number seven as one of perfection, happiness and wisdom, with 777 as a sign of luck, protection and peace.
